Bloger Joe McKay has worked out how to avoid ads attached to emails sent from Gmail. The solution is simple – when writing to some other Gmail user, it would be enough to use some words related to a tragic experience. If in the email text Google finds words such as death, suicide, murder, it will not display ads (it works also in the Polish version of Gmail).
The posts that comment on this discovery show that many Internet users have not noticed these ads. They have only realised they are there when they read Joe’s post.
